Scouting Trail:

After having signals crossed resulting in my co-hare waiting an hour for me at the start location, we saddled-up for our scouting outing for the Pedalfiles.  Taking many turns and counting our miles, we came to a couple conclusions.

We need to incorporate check backs to slow down the ultra cyclists and avoid busy intersections to insure the safety of the pack.  The check backs are fairly straight forward but ensuring the safety of the pack can be a challenge.  As responsible hares, we want to maintain standard cycling laws such as riding on the right side of the street, staying off sidewalks and out of crosswalks.  So how do two seasoned hares get a drunken pack on wheels to cross over three lanes of traffic to make a left turn while following powder?

You'll have to get on your bike and ride the Pedalfiles trail hared by Flying Booger and myself, Sunday, January 21 to find out!

 On-On!

When anyone participates in a bike/run/walk hash, one assumes his own opportunities for a challenging event. Seasoned hares take on the responsibility of asking "What if...?" and plan trail accordingly. This is what Booger and I have done. A section or two of the trail will be a challenge, and that is why this hash is not for Junior or Fido. The pack will have to keep a sharp eye for turns on powder and some traffic. Eveyone will be safe on our trail as long as cycling rules are practiced. You wouldn't want a boring ride in the park now, would you? We're hashers, for crying out loud! On-On!I

Casual Friday, are you trying to scare the pack off, telling them how dangerous this trail is going to be? Hey, I'm all for scaring the fast riders off! On On, Flying Booger
